Doug DuBois…all the days and nights
1000 Words Photography

In recent times the family has been chronicled by Larry Sultan, Tina Barney, Sally Mann, Tierney Gearon, Richard Bilingham and even Thomas Struth but few have documented its disintegration or disenchantment like Doug DuBois. DuBois began photographing his own flesh and blood in 1984, prior to his father’s near fatal fall from a commuter train and his mothers’ subsequent battle with suicidal depression, and continued to do so for over twenty-five years.
