Six art shows to see on NYC’s Upper East Side this weekend, including exhibitions of work by Bill Traylor and Barbara Probst.
In her “Exposures” series (2000–present), New York-based artist Barbara Probst uses radio-controlled cameras to photograph her subjects simultaneously from several vantage points; the resulting multipart works offer several perspectives on a single action or scene, challenging the authority of photographic “truth.” This single-piece exhibition is dedicated to the first work in the series.
